Cornish Pasties
In this lesson, we made Cornish Pasties. We first had to peel the vegetables and prepare the food processor. When we turned on the food processor and started to grate the veggies, our food processor went funny, so we had to try and fix it. Luckily, it was easy to place the grater in its place, and we started to grate the veggies again. After they were grated, we added them to the meat, seasoned it and palced it in the puff pastry. We then wrapped it up in the traditional way, glazed it with milk and placed it in the oven. I can't wait to try something new that has come from Cornwall, England.
Theory
During this lesson, we finished listening to the speeches for part 1. They were all very interesting and I am happy to say that I have definitely learn something from all the speeches. After they were finished, I updated my blog so that I am finished and up to date with everything. :)

Golden syrup dumplings
In this lesson we made golden syrup dumplings. I made the sauce, and my partner started to make the dumplings mixture. We had to wait for the butter to melt in the sauce before taking it off the heat, as we did t want the mixture to bubble. I sadly had to leave early for a music eistedford, so I didn't have the chance to taste the dumplings or see how they turned out. I am sure I will make this at home for myself and mum and dad.
Okonomiyaki
In this prac lesson, we made okonomiyaki, which is Japanese pancakes. Because there was space in the hospitality kitchen, my Japanese buddy came and helped us cook the pancakes. I grated the sweet potato, and the other cut up the other ingredients and made the mixture. Once that was done, we placed the pancakes in the electric frypan and waiting. Once they were done, my Japanese buddy showed us how to put the Japanese mayo and sauce on the pancakes. They look delicious!

Chicken Yakitori
In this lesson, we made chicken Yakitori, which is japanese chicken skewers. I cut up the chicken, while Kerys made the sauce. Once the sauce had thickened up, and I placesd the chicken and green onion on the skewers, we put them straight into the electric frypan, after coating them with the sauce. We wanted to give the chicken as much flavour as we could, so when they were cooking, we would add mroe sauce. When we had a taste of it, the extra sauce really helped. Making this was really nice to eat, especially for lunch.

Theory
Today in this theory lesson, my partner and I looked at a different variety of books about the Italian cuisine. most of the books were filled with just recipes, but we did find this one helpful book about all the cured meats, cheeses, herbs and what they do in their holidays. It also gave us some background information on how they used it. I hope we can get a lot from this one book.

Spaghetti Bolognese
In this Hospo lesson, we made Spaghetti Bolognese. This was the 2nd thing in our recepie book for the multicultural theme. We had a thicker type of fettucini, which was quite nice. I chopped up all the ingrediences finely, and added them in the fry pan with the mince and liquid. Once it was done, my partner and I ate it, and it was quite good, although my partner added too much oregano. I can't wait to eat it.
